An Integrated Approach
Rarely can we point to a single cause for problems in our lives. They are usually complicated and can involve many people and events which impact us on a regular basis. Compound these events over a life-time and it is no wonder that we are often at a loss to discern the root causes of such pressing issues. These many facets continually interact to make us who we are. This is true for the four major problem areas negatively affecting our lives.
They are integrally intertwined; there is a fundamental interrelatedness between Generational Sins and Curses, Ungodly Beliefs, Life’s hurts, and Demonic Oppression. In order to bring lasting healing and freedom, all four areas must receive ministry in the same general time frame.
Sometimes there is a single issue which impacts our life. Yet, at other times there seems to be more than one issue, all interconnected, with no clear beginning or focus. Restoring Your Life has two ministry paths to help you find the healing you desire. The first is a shorter, “issue-focused” format; and, the second is an extended, “thorough” format.
Issue-Focused Ministry Format
All too often there is one major issue that stands out in our lives; one that just seems to bring us trouble. Through it all, we may feel shame, fear, anger, pain, or confusion. Perhaps it flares up only in certain circumstances, or perhaps it’s an on-going issue. Restoring The Foundation can help. Our Issue-Focused ministry format focuses primarily on the major issue that is troubling you. Together, through prayer, we discover how the four problem areas work together to ignite and inflame the issue.
We will apply the foundational truths to each area as we listen to God for counsel and direction.
The ministry session takes approximately three hours. These three hours can profoundly change your life as God sets you free from the root causes of an on-going burden in your life.
What are the root causes?
1. Sins of the Fathers and the Resulting Curses:
This problem is rooted in the 2nd commandment (Ex 20:3-6), where God visits “the iniquities of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generations.” God requires us to confess our ancestor’s sin as well as our own (Lev 26:40). We help you focus on the confession of sin (I Jn 1:9) and appropriation of Christ’s finished work on the Cross to break curses (Gal 3:13) and recover “legal ground” from the enemy (Col 2:14).
3. Soul/Spirit Hurts:
Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted (Lk 4:18). As we “Wait upon the Lord” with “Listening Prayer,” He heals the hurts of our soul and spirit. He shows us what He wants to heal, and then, after we take care of necessary forgiveness and releasing, He heals what He has shown..
2. Ungodly Beliefs:
All of us inherit ungodly beliefs from our ancestors (i.e., parents, grandparents), as well as forming them from life’s circumstances. These Ungodly Beliefs need to be changed into Godly Beliefs. This can be accomplished through a procedure of repentance and of renewing our mind (Rom 12:2).
4. Demonic Oppression:
After we have “co-labored with Christ” to bring freedom and healing to the first three ministry areas in our lives, the various demonic strongholds oppressing us can be disassembled and destroyed (Mk 16:17).
Receiving Issue-Focused Ministry
Most people will receive Issue-Focus Ministry through trained teams within their local church or through our Healing House qualified teams. If your local church does not have a Restoring the Foundations program then you may wish to contact a qualified team near you. Issue-Focus ministry is 3 hours total (individually).
Times may be slightly longer or shorter, as the Holy Spirit directs. Most people will receive Issue-Focused Ministry through trained teams within their local church. If your local church does not have a Restoring the Foundations program then you may wish to contact a qualified team near you. Important questionnaire to be filled in please print.
Sometimes we’re simply overwhelmed. We’ve been holding it together for so long, the beginning and end of things become blurred. Maybe we can’t even point to a single issue that’s bothering us. There may be many issues and some seem to be related and others not -it can be confusing. Restoring the Foundations knows that the fabric can get quite tangled. The Thorough Format ministry experience
examines the four problem areas that we all experience. As we go through the ministry experience, God will reveal patterns and cause and effect relationships–suddenly, understanding emerges. Often times you can point to several troubling issues, but at other times issues are uncovered that start to shed light on and make sense of circumstances in our lives we didn’t quite understand. While the approach is systematic and thorough, God is tender and loving in revealing and healing our hurt. During the 15 hours of ministry, we will apply the foundational truths to each problem area and systematically address the spiritual root causes as God graciously prepares our hearts and minds to receive his love. We’ll begin with by getting to know one another and spend about three hours asking you questions and letting you clarify the issues and history in your life. The following four three-hour sessions will each focus on one of the four problem areas we all experience. Married couples will have a joint session at the beginning and end of the ministry time and private sessions for each of the four problem areas.
Joint initial session for married couples (3 hours)
Interview (3 hours
Generational Sins (3 hours)
Ungodly Beliefs (3 hours)
Life’s Hurts (3 hours)
Demonic Oppression (3 hours)
Joint concluding session for married couples (3 hours)

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about Restoring the Foundations
Where can I learn more about Restoring the Foundations?
Visit Restoring The Foundations Web site. Training in South Africa.
How long have you been RTF ministers?
We have been doing RTF ministry full-time since 2008.
Is RTF ministry limited to married couples?
No. We adapt the RFT principles for use with single individuals.
How can I be sure RTF ministry is confidential?
Before you begin RTF, you will sign a confidentiality agreement. Legally and ethically, information you share with us may not be disclosed without your written consent. The “Waiver of Liability” form details certain situations (for example, physical or sexual abuse being done to a minor child or any issues dealing with suicide) that we are legally required to report. Married couples are also assured that no confidentiality will be broken regarding the spouses’ individual ministry time. Spouses will decide what details of their individual ministry sessions they want to share with each other.
What qualifications do Pieter and Elize have to conduct this ministry?
Pieter and Elize are ordained ministers under Betsy and Chester Kylstra and the Healing House Network in Hendersonville, North Carolina. They are qualified asRestoring the Foundations ministers, seminar leaders, and trainers. They serve on the leadership team for the Northwest Restoring the Foundations (RTF) Training Center.
When can I expect breakthroughs to occur?
We believe in starting our ministry with you right where you are at. Some people open up right away and begin making breakthroughs; for others, it doesn’t happen until the second couples’ session. Our passion as RTF ministers is to help you restore a strong foundation in your marriage and in your personal life. Without exception, breakthroughs always happen during our ministry sessions; the exciting part of the journey is experiencing how God breaks down the barriers that hold you back from walking in the full destiny the Lord has for you.
How will you prepare me (and my spouse) to keep moving forward in positive ways after our RTF ministry sessions end?
We not only help people restore the foundations of their relationship, we equip them with a “toolbox.” When a particular “red flag” situation or challenge arises, they can pull a card out of their toolbox to help each other identify the hurt or ungodly belief. The “tool” guides them through the situation so they can administer and receive healing – together.
